Yesterday I went to a friend’s house. She’s renovating and the chaos was almost too familiar.
I kept thinking about the need we have to make our home “ours“, how we spend all this time taking care of the tiniest details to feel at home.
But what about when you are renting? What can you do with that nagging feeling that screams:
“why would I bother with the decor, when this isn’t my home!”

So it’s important to try to make it your own, even if you’re not going to have everything looking exactly the way you envision it.
When you are renting you should focus your attention on things you can take along with you everywhere you go. Furniture, accessories, art, area rugs, pillows, lamps, to name a few.
A perfect way to make your home look and feel more “your own” is by adding fresh flowers, candles, books and vases.

So, work with what you’ve got and try to enjoy the process while you make it your own! 🙂
