As seen on the of the March issue of Architectural Digest, the tv personality showed off her new home, located in a super private community in Calabasas, California.
To tell you the truth, I’m not a fan of her style, but I have to say: this one hits the mark! (#TotalWin). The mix of gray, white and black is super fancy and the wooden floors keep it real, natural and down to Earth.
I think the patchwork cowhide rug really stands out as the central piece. It was an excellent addition to fit the whole mood of the space, bringing texture and, as you can see from the photos, the different lighting can make it look both soft gray or white.
This effect is one that we always try to explain to our clients: white cowhide hair reflects the light and colors around it, so sometimes a rug will take a lot of tones from its surroundings, making it look a bit on the gray side or creamy, depending on the colors on the wall, the sofa, the floors and even the ceiling.
The great thing about this effect is that you’ll discover new tones, highlights and shadows, depending on the angle, time of day, or even the season of the year, as the sun hits the hair.
Of course, being all natural hair helps a lot here, giving each leather area rug a personality of its own.
